- 2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (we like Sweet Baby Ray's or Stubb's)
- 1 white onion (sliced or sweet yellow onion)
- 0.7 oz. Italian dressing mix (I use Good Seasons brand)
- 12 oz. Coca Cola
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Evenly sprinkle the Italian dressing mix over the chicken.
- Layer the sliced white onion on top of the chicken.
- Drizzle the barbecue sauce over the chicken and onions.
- Pour the Coca Cola on top of the mixture.
- Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 7-8 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken and serve on buns or as desired.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the barbecue sauce to your taste.
Serve with coleslaw or a side salad for a complete meal.
This dish also works well with sweet yellow onions for added flavor.
