Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1.74 oz. dry chicken gravy mix (two .87 oz. packets)
- 10.75 oz. can cream of chicken soup
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts into the slow cooker (no need to pre-cook or brown them).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, water, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks directly in the slow cooker.
- If the gravy is too thin, mix the cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. of water together, then add to the slow cooker with the shredded chicken. Cover and cook on high for an additional 10 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
Notes
For added flavor, consider including some vegetables like carrots or peas during cooking.
Use a variety of seasonings like garlic powder or onion powder to enhance the dish.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious gravy.
