- 6 granny smith apples, cut into 1/2" pieces
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 8 tablespoons butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Combine the diced apples and lemon juice in a bowl and stir to coat.
- Sprinkle the flour and cinnamon over the apples and toss until well coated, then transfer the mixture into a 9" pie plate.
- Drizzle 1/2 cup of the caramel sauce over the apple mixture and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the softened butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and oats until crumbles form.
- Sprinkle the oat topping over the apple mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Remove from the oven, cool slightly, and drizzle additional caramel on top before serving.
Notes
For extra caramel flavor, drizzle more caramel over the top before or after baking.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
