This Slow Cooker Beer and Garlic Brats dish boasts an irresistible flavor with minimal prep time. Perfect for a quick dinner and great for gatherings, it’s a delightful blend of savory brats, tender onions, and aromatic garlic, all infused with the rich taste of beer.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 38 oz. brats, (two 19 oz. packages)
  • 1 large white onion, sliced and divided
  • 10 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 12 oz. bottle beer, (I used Coors banquet)

Instructions

  1. Place half of the sliced onion in the slow cooker, followed by a double layer of brats.
  2. Top with the remaining onion slices, garlic, and black pepper. Place the butter on top of the ingredients.
  3. Pour the beer over everything in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, avoiding opening the lid during cooking.
  5. Serve the cooked brats, garlic, and onions on buns, adding any desired toppings.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of beer for unique flavors.
Serving with sauerkraut or mustard adds extra zing to the dish.
This recipe can easily be scaled down for smaller gatherings.
