- 48 oz Pasta Sauce or Marinara
- 1 ½ lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. pepper
- ½ tsp. oregano
- 1 lb. penne pasta
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Place chicken in a slow cooker and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Pour pasta sauce over the chicken.
- Set the slow cooker to HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours without lifting the lid.
- After cooking time, prepare penne pasta according to its package directions on the stove.
- Shred the cooked chicken in the slow cooker using two forks.
- Drain the penne pasta well, then add it to the slow cooker with the shredded chicken and sauce. Stir to combine and spread evenly.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, cover, and let sit for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.
Notes
For a healthier version, use whole wheat pasta.
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for added nutrients.
