- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1–2 jalapeños seeded and finely diced (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons homemade chili seasoning
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and turkey in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through, then drain any excess fat.
- Transfer the cooked meat to a 6-quart slow cooker and add the diced onion, jalapeños, and minced garlic.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, chili seasoning, and smoked paprika until well combined.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until flavors meld and the chili thickens.
- Adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or spice to taste before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add more broth if you prefer a thinner chili.
Adjust jalapeño quantity based on heat preference.
Serve with your favorite toppings like cheese, sour cream, or green onions.
