Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 12 jalapeños seeded and finely diced (optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons homemade chili seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and turkey in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through, then drain any excess fat.
  2. Transfer the cooked meat to a 6-quart slow cooker and add the diced onion, jalapeños, and minced garlic.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, chili seasoning, and smoked paprika until well combined.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until flavors meld and the chili thickens.
  5. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or spice to taste before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add more broth if you prefer a thinner chili.
Adjust jalapeño quantity based on heat preference.
