- 3 pounds brisket flat
- 1 tablespoon dried ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 small onion, roughly chopped
- 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
- 6 oz red baby potatoes
- ½ head cabbage, core removed and cut into 4–6 wedges
Instructions
- Place the brisket in the slow cooker.
- Rub the seasonings into the top of the brisket.
- Add the chopped vegetables around the brisket inside the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
- Remove the brisket from the slow cooker, let it rest for about 15 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
Notes
For a richer flavor, choose a higher quality brisket.
You can add additional vegetables like parsnips or turnips for variation.
Ensure to slice against the grain to maintain tenderness.
