Ingredients

  • 3 pounds brisket flat
  • 1 tablespoon dried ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 small onion, roughly chopped
  • 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 6 oz red baby potatoes
  • ½ head cabbage, core removed and cut into 46 wedges

Instructions

  1. Place the brisket in the slow cooker.
  2. Rub the seasonings into the top of the brisket.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables around the brisket inside the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
  5. Remove the brisket from the slow cooker, let it rest for about 15 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

Notes

For a richer flavor, choose a higher quality brisket.
You can add additional vegetables like parsnips or turnips for variation.
Ensure to slice against the grain to maintain tenderness.
