Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds boneless pork shoulder
- 3 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Place the pork shoulder into the slow cooker and season the top and sides with smoked paprika and sea salt, pressing it into the meat.
- Lay the bacon slices carefully over the pork.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 8-10 hours, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 205℉.
- Once done, remove the bacon slices and discard them.
- Transfer the pork to a large bowl and shred it for serving.
- You can discard the pan drippings or save some for reheating leftovers.
Notes
The slow cooker simplifies the cooking process, allowing the pork to become tender and flavorful.
For added flavor, consider marinating the pork in the spices overnight before cooking.
This dish pairs well with rice or as a filling for tacos.
