Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops ¾-1 inch thick
  • 1 medium onion sliced into thick rings
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning or 3 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 garlic clove finely minced (or 1 teaspoon jarred)
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried chives

Instructions

  1. Mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, and chives in a small bowl and refrigerate until needed.
  2. Layer the onion slices at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Place the pork chops on top of the onion slices.
  4. Sprinkle ranch seasoning and salt evenly over the pork chops.
  5. Pour chicken broth around the edges of the slow cooker, avoiding direct contact with the pork chops to keep the seasoning intact.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours for optimal texture.
  7. In the last 5-10 minutes of cooking, add the ranch herb butter on top of the pork chops to melt and enhance the flavor.
  8. Mix the onions into the jus, then serve over the pork chops.

Notes

For added flavor, use homemade ranch seasoning instead of a packet.
Adjust the cooking time based on your slow cooker model; some may cook faster than others.
Serve with your choice of sides like mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
